ORLANDO, Fla. (April 3, 2025) – The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is excited to announce Myron Gerber has been appointed the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Chair of Judo.
For nearly 30 years, Gerber has been a part of the AAU, wearing many hats as he served in the Indiana AAU District. He has been an athlete, coach, and event director for many years. Gerber also has a wealth of knowledge and experience in martial arts as a whole.
“I am truly honored and thrilled about the opportunity to contribute to the advancement and promotion of Judo as a sport,” said Myron Gerber, AAU Judo National Chair. “I genuinely appreciate the confidence that the AAU has placed in me.”
Gerber has devoted 30 years to the practice of martial arts, earning his first black belt in Taekwondo in 1988. Currently, he holds 6th-degree black belt in Taekwondo, a 5th-degree black belt in Kokoro Shorin Ryu Karate, a 2nd-degree black belt in Pankration, and a Yodan 4th dan degree black belt in Judo. Gerber’s contributions to the martial arts community have been acknowledged through three (3) inductions into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
By collaborating with other associations, coaches, and instructors, Gerber aims to bring everyone together to benefit athletes. Furthermore, he looks to provide improved opportunities for competition and overall development to AAU Judo.
Aside from Gerber’s personal accomplishments, he owns Iron Kickboxing Promotions, an organization which hosts the longest-running and largest kickboxing and mixed-martial arts events in Indiana, taking place at the Muncie Horizon Convention Center four to six times a year.
