MILWAUKEE, Wis. (February 1, 2023) – The Brew City Battle was an event to remember! Two hundred eighty-three (283) teams from around the country traveled to the Wisconsin Center looking for some gold. Sixteen teams in total ended their weekend with a new medal to add to the collection.
This first-year event was a two-day boys event co-hosted and ran by Junior Volleyball Association (JVA) and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The first-year event brought together 3,300 athletes from every coast of the country. With teams from Puerto Rico, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin, this was one of the premier events of the season.
Teams were split up into age-based groups from 12 and under to 18 and under. There were 16 divisions in all: 12 and under, 13 and under, 14 Open, 14 Premier, 15 Classic, 15 Open, 15 Premier, 16 Classic, 16 Open, 16 Premier, 17 Classic, 17 Open, 17 Premier, 18 Classic, 18 Open, and 18 Premier.
Each team showed up with an ultimate goal of playing to the best of their abilities and the teams did not disappoint. While everyone had impressive games, only a few could stand above the rest. The winners from each division were:
