“We are excited to bring this AAU clinic opportunity to the Virgin Islands,” said AAU 2nd Vice-President and Track and Field National Chair Charles “Coach O” Oliver. “As we expand into training and technique clinics such as this one, we strive to provide the best tools for youth athletes in the United States and internationally to succeed both on and off the track now and in the years to come.”

“Bringing the Under the Sun Long Jump clinic to the Virgin Islands is a great opportunity for our youth to learn from Olympic medalists who will inspire them to become more active in track and field,” said Keith Smith, Virgin Islands Track and Field Federation President. “The Virgin Islands needs a fresh perspective on athletics that can excite our athletes’ development. AAU is respected around the world and has demonstrated a long, rich and admirable history of working with youth. It is our pleasure to partner with such an organization.”
The participants will be taught by experienced track and field professionals, including Olympic gold medalists Jason Rouser and LaMont Smith, U.S. and World-ranked long jumper Stanley Holmes, and World Championship long jump silver medalist Jason Grimes.
“This clinic started with the vision of helping kids reach their highest performance levels through proper track and field training, with long jump being my primary focus,” said Stanley Holmes.
This event is part of AAU Track and Field’s Global Initiative. The program’s goal is to expand the reach of AAU track and field internationally, while also exposing U.S. athletes to track and field opportunities in other countries.
