ORLANDO, Fla - AAU President & CEO Jennings “Rusty” Buchanan along with AAU representatives from the Iowa AAU district led by longtime AAU volunteer and Iowa AAU Governor Teresa Parmenter met with sport officials in the Republic of Kosovo last month.
Officials from the Kosovo Sport and Culture Ministry accepted much needed equipment donated by the AAU. A big "thank you" goes out to Track and Field National Committee and National Chair Charles “Coach O” Oliver and BADEN Sports for their gracious contributions of track and field equipment and volleyballs, respectively. A special thanks goes out to Teresa Parmenter for all her efforts to make this trip a reality.
AAU Iowa District Governor Teresa Parmenter has participated in the Iowa Sisters States (ISS) program, which made this trip possible, for more than three decades, and sits on its board of directors.
The goal of this trip was to foster international partnership, coorperation and overall promote cultural and economic support to Kosovo youth so that they can play and participate in sports as their country continues to rebuild itself from years of war and hardship.
